Now that Episode 01 is underway there are a number of themes already brought up within the story. To facilitate discussion of these themes this board has been created. Though the themes within the story have been abstracted to a fictional setting involving fictional peoples, it should be noted that they do reflect how the writers feel about certain topics within the real world. As such it can be expected that political and social issues will be touched upon within this board. Though I will not discourage open conversation, I do ask that people maintain a polite level of conversation and avoid personal attacks and the well-known fallacies of debates online.
Anyway...
The themes I have been attempting to bring into the story so far come in two basic regards, there will be a few more themes brought up later in the story, but we will get to those when they come up organically.
The first theme and perhaps one of the biggest themes of AG is the relationship between progress and the past, namely how several times ancient sites have been destroyed to make way for the modern world. Within the context of AG, this is seen in the fact that the Union has been bulldozing areas of the station to make them more habitable and easy to use.
The second theme, and again this will be a major theme in AG, is that of indigenous peoples and their relationships with forces of colonization. this can be seen in AG in the relationship between the natives of the station, the Lienati, and their relationship with the Union, though there has been no formal contact yet in the story, this will be coming.
Now, I'd like to open the floor to anyone who'd like to say anything about the mentioned themes above or bring up themes they would like to explore themselves in this episode or major themes they would like to explore over the course of several episodes, including but not limited to this one. As well as those wishing to contribute thoughts and feelings on the themes mentioned above.
