The year is 2419...
Located 36 lightyears from Earth and the heart of the Planetary Union, the star Arcturus was only notable for its vast supply of hydrogen, or at the very least until 3 years ago that was all anyone ever thought. It was 3 years ago that a long-abandoned space station was discovered in orbit of the star. After a year of negotiation with the Octavian Group, a consortium that held the rights to the star and it's vast resources, the Planetary Union began research on the station.
Due to the station's position near a major trade route, it was decided by the Planetary Parliment to augment the station for use as an outpost for the Planetary Union, much to the chagrin of Union Archeologists who viewed the site as too important a historical find to risk damage to it. The Archeologists managed to secure the sight for only a single year before the Union Engineering Corps took control and began augmenting the station. An effort was made to leave as much of the original structure intact, however, a command module and civilian living module were attached to the structure.
After a year-long process of augmentation, a full term crew is being transferred to the station to take command of all operations there. In addition with the goal of making the station a center of commerce, the Octavian Group decided to renegotiate their arrangement with the Union, giving them partial ownership of the station, requiring a representative of the group to make a permanent residence on the station.
Add to that tensions between the local trade groups and the crew of the station find themselves walking into an already complicated situation, set to get increasingly more complicated.
Our story will continue to grow and develop...
